“ABOUT US” subheading=”Somali Humanitarian and Development Action (SOHDA) is a credible, local non-governmental, non-political, non-religious, non-sectoral and non-profit making relief and development organization established in July 2013.
SOHDA was established by a group of committed and dedicated philanthropic young men and women with the aim of helping and improving the living standards of marginalized communities and vulnerable groups in Somalia in collaboration with national and international development and humanitarian actors.
In its development and humanitarian work, SOHDA focuses in collaborating with and building the capacity of the communities we work with to help them address their social, economic and developmental challenges. We call this model ‘Creating Local Solutions
to Local Challenges.
Our strategic goal is to enable a sustainable social cohesion and livelihoods, strengthen and promote human rights and culture of peace towards a society that is free from violence against women, children and humans.
SOHDA has good working relationship with the local communities, local and regional authorities and its target beneficiaries throughout Somalia.
With its Headquarters based in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, the organization started its active operation in South-central Zone of Somalia. After years of successful humanitarian work in Banadir region, SOHDA expanded its activities to Middle Shabelle, Lower Shabelle and Hiran regions.
In addition to the Mogadishu main office, there are currently field offices in Jowhar the transitional seat of Hirsha belle State and in Garowe the capital of Puntland State of Somalia.
SOHDA has earned a reputation among their local supporting groups for the highest quality work for accountability, sustainability, responsibility and sensitivity.
