About SOHDA
Somali Humanitarian and Development Action (SOHDA) is a nationally registered, non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization based in Somalia. Established in July 2013 by a visionary group of Somali youth and professionals, SOHDA is dedicated to addressing the pressing humanitarian and development challenges faced by vulnerable and marginalized communities across the country.
SOHDA’s work primarily focuses on supporting vulnerable groups, including women, children, and internally displaced persons (IDPs), through a wide range of humanitarian and development interventions.
Guided by the principle of “Creating Local Solutions to Local Challenges,” SOHDA adopts a community-driven approach that promotes resilience, social cohesion, and sustainable development. The organization collaborates closely with local communities, authorities, and international development partners to design and implement inclusive, impactful, and rights-based programs.
